While the core trinity of Link, Zelda, and Ganon have been in nearly every Legend of Zelda game, features like how old Link and Zelda are vary across the franchise. ![]() ![]() RAVIO MASK ARCHIVEĬreator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings. The Legend of Zelda series has had a ton of characters over the years. Tetra held onto Melody as tight as she could all throughout the uncomfortably tense meal. It had been prepared for them by order of the two royals-not by request, she wanted to add. Tetra nearly lost her cool just from the way they spoke to the exhausted-looking servants. Seriously though, would it have killed them to have used the word please? Or maybe a thank you? Wasn’t royalty supposed to care for their people like children? Or were those just stories glorified after ages of the people not living under a monarchy? She knew all the smiles and pleasantries had been nothing more than an act. When they were led to the cold dining hall, she felt an even colder chill run down her spine. She’d already been uncomfortable walking through the halls of the castle that were still very intact. It wasn’t not completely worn down and covered in sea salt and coral from decades spent at the bottom of the Great Sea. To see actual real live people walking past her was something entirely surreal. Though it wasn’t the feelings of awe and wonder that made her skin crawl, but one of an echo of darkness that gnawed at the back of her mind. It held on more with each step she took further into the castle. Tetra had no idea what that darkness was and had even less of an idea how she hadn’t realized it was there sooner. It wasn’t something she could put a name to, but it did feel somewhat familiar it kept her teetering on the fence between her fight or flight reflexes. Maybe a sickness or blight, there must have been magic involved somehow because the hair on the back of her neck felt like it was standing on end from electricity. Melody stayed relatively quiet throughout the meal…if she could call it one. Honestly, she wasn’t even sure if what they were being fed could have qualified as food-which was saying a lot since living a life on the sea never always guaranteed them the nicest of meals, but at least they had always been somewhat edible. The stuff on her overly fancy plate was all just as gray and lifeless as the people in the castle were. Her crew poked and sniffed at it but no one dared to take a bite. Questionable cuisine aside, everyone was far too on edge to eat. ![]() The king and queen didn’t seem to think there was anything wrong with the food, of course. They ate very contentedly, still smiling and acting as if everything in the world was good and cheerful. If Tetra knew anything at all, it was that those kinds of smiles couldn’t be trusted. The one-eared lady from the shop earlier was right, people only covered their faces when they were up to no good.Īfter pushing a strange, soggy vegetable around on her plate, Tetra looked up at the two rulers and gave them a hard stare. “Why did you want to speak to me so badly?” She demanded, getting straight to the point. Sure, she loved to play word games every now and again, but there was a time and place for everything. And with her self-assigned mission, she didn’t want to waste any more time than necessary dealing with unnecessary things. The queen dabbed her gray napkin on the corner of her mouth even though there was nothing on her face. ![]()
